Emotional Stories of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) Video

Image
Unlike the founders of many religious, the final prophet of Islam is a real documented and historical figure. He lived in the full light of history, and the most minute details of his life are known. Not only do Muslims have the complete text of God’s words that were revealed to Muhammad, but they have also preserved his sayings and teachings in what is called ‘Hadeeth’ literature. Emotional Stories of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)- By Maulana Tariq Jameel This having been said, it should be understood that Muslims believe that the Prophet Muhammad was only a man chosen by God, and that he is not divine in any way. In order to avoid the misguided wish to deify him, the Prophet Muhammad taught Muslims to refer to him as ‘God’s Messenger and His Slave’. The mission of the last and final prophet of God was to simply teach that ‘there is nothing divine or worthy of being worshipped except for Almighty God’, as well as being a living example of God’s revelation. In simple terms,

A brief introduction to Islam

Image
He word ‘Islam’ is an Arabic word which means ‘submission to the will of God’. This word comes from the same root as the Arabic word ‘salam’, which means ‘peace’. As such, the religion of Islam teaches that in order to achieve true peace of mind and surety of heart, one must submit to God and live according to His Divinely revealed Law. The most important truth that God revealed to mankind is that there is nothing divine or worthy of being worshipped except for Almighty God, thus all human beings should submit to Him. The word ‘Muslim’ means one who submits to the will of God, regardless of their race, nationality or ethnic background. Being a Muslim entails willful submission and active obedience to God, and living in accordance with His message. Some people mistakenly believe that Islam is just a religion for Arabs, but nothing could be further from the truth. Not only are there converts to Islam in every corner of the world, especially in England and America, but by taking a

What is Islam? About Islam

What is Islam? Islam is not a new religion, rather it is the continuation of the same Truth that God revealed to all of His prophets starting from Adam and culminating with Muhammad (peace be upon all of them), to the entire mankind.   For over one-fifth of the world’s population, Islam is not merely a religion or a set of devotional practices, instead it is a complete way of life that governs their day to day affairs – everything from social interaction to daily economic transactions.

The best way to lose weight, according to Prophet Muhammad's advice

Image
If you are Muslim and you are able, it is worth it to give the Quranic diet a try If you want to lose weight, go on a  Quranic diet . Which means get most of your calories from meat, dairy, and fruit. Use olive oil and honey. Avoid sugar, white flour, and other processed foods. Don't eat grains or nuts if you can avoid them, because these are mentioned very little in the Quran. Meat is mentioned 100 times, while grains are mentioned only 7 times. The Quranic diet is very similar to the recently popular paleolithic diet. It focuses on natural hunter-gatherer foods, the foods that our earliest ancestors enjoyed, which is mostly meat and fruit. According to  Why We Get Fat , the most scientific nutrition book written in recent history, the most important reason why people get fat is because of eating foods containing sugar and flour. The reason is that while humans cannot eat too much meat (because eating too much meat triggers human disgust responses), they can eat a lot m

The Qur’an is truly the perfect book. Not only is it written so beautifully that it’s incomparable by any other book of religion, but it also has… weight loss tips? Didn’t see that coming, did you? :heh: It seems unfair how easy it is to gain weight and how hard it is to lose it. All of us want to reach a standard of perfection when it comes to our body image: tanned, toned, and tiny. At the same time, we shouldn’t stress ourselves out about it too much! Not only should we remember that modesty is of our faith, but we also shouldn’t forget that stress is the silent killer. With that being said, here is what Islam gave us to solve the all-too-modern problem of weight gain… 1. Ramadan:  Just in time! Ramadan begins next week, insha’Allah, and it is the perfect month to tune up our physical, mental, and spiritual health. The Prophet (SAW) said,  “Fast the month of Ramadan so to heal your bodies from disease.”  If, during this month, we eat  only  the pure and unprocessed foods t

Hajj Training Documentary Video in Urdu

Hajj 2017 Training Documentary Video in Urdu Hajj takes place once a year. It is the pilgrimage made to Kabah in city of Makkah. Each year over two million Muslims from around the globe gather in Makkah for Hajj. The men wear two unstitched cloths called ihram. The women wear their normal clothes. They all walk around the Kabah seven times. Over and over again they say: “Here I am 0! Allah, here I am.” The pilgrims also walk briskly seven times between two small hills near the Kabah. This reminds them of Prophet Ibrahim’s wife running between these hills to find water to save her baby’s life. The rites of Hajj take about a week, and the pilgrims stay in tents for part of it. One act of Hajj is to throw small stones at the pillars that represent Satan. This shows how believers should avoid temptation. One of the main acts of Hajj is to visit the hill of Arafat and stand there to say prayers. Here Prophet Muhammad gave his historic sermon in which he said: “No black man is better

Why We Celebrate Eid-ul-Adha

What is the universal message of Eid-ul-Adha? Eid-ul-Adha literally means `festival of sacrifice'. Here, animal sacrifice is only symbolic. Real sacrifice is to be made by the people of faith themselves. The Quran refers to a historical event as a role model for this act of sacrifice. Prophet Abra ham sacrificed an animal but it was a symbolic sacrifice. The real sacrifice on his part was that he dedicated his son, Ismail, for a peaceful mission. This mission is referred in the Quran as zibh azeem (37:107). It means great sacrifice, but Prophet Abraham never slaughtered his son; he only dedicated his son for a purpose, that is, to live in a desert and to produce a new peaceful generation that is called the Banu Ismail (Children of Ismail). Celebrating this event annually means that the faithful should pledge to follow the example of Ismail. Why do Muslims celebrate Eid ul-Adha? Muslims ritually sacrifice an animal, but the real purpose is to pledge that we will dedicate our

History of Eid Ul Adha

Eid is a festival of Muslims that is celebrated all over the world. Eid-ul-Adha is also known as the festival of sacrifice and sacrifice feast. Eid- ul- Adha is celebrated on the tenth day of Dhuj Hijja, the Islamic month according to the lunar Islamic calendar. Eid- ul- Adha accurs approximately seventy days after the end of Ramadan month. The festival of Eid- ul- Adha is celebrated in the remembrance of prophet Abraham’s readiness to forfeit Ishmael, his son for god. The story about this festival tells, how Abraham was ready to kill his son and remained true to God. The story tells, how Allah told Abraham, to lift up the foundation of Kaaba that was a holy place in Mecca.God also asked Abraham to sacrifice his son, in a dream. Abraham along with his son started moving towards Mina for the sacrifice. Some of the daemons tried to direct Abraham away from his way but Abraham was true to god and as he was just set to kill his son, God stopped him and gave him a sheep to sacrifice instea

ASALATU WASALAMU ALAYKA YA RASULLALLAH Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam

The Prophet Sallalahu alaihi wasallam has said, "a person does not perform any action on Baqar 'Eid which is dearer to Allah Azzawajal than Qurbani. This Qurbani will come on the Day of Judgement, with its horns, hair, and hoofs, and at the time of sacrificing the animal, it is accepted by Allah Azzawajal even before the blood of the slaughtered animal reaches the ground. Therefore, perform Qurbani happily and open-heartedly. {Tirmizi, Volume 3, Page 162, Hadith 1498, Dar-ul-Fikr Beirut} Sayyiduna Shah Abdul Haqq Muhaddith-e- Dehlvi Rahmatullah alaih says that the sacrifice will be placed upon the side of good deeds, of the one whom performed it. Due to this, his good deeds will be become (considerably) weighty. {Ash'a-tul-ma' aat, Volume 1, Page 654, Quetta} Mullah Ali Qari Rahmatullah alaih says, "then it will be a conveyance for him and with this conveyance the person will comfortably cross the bridge of Siraat. Furthermore, every limb of this (animal) will

Dealing with substance abuse

Dealing with substance abuse  We learn from verses 90 and 91 of  Surah Maidah  that Islam is opposed to the use of any intoxicants. The detrimental effects of cigarettes are well-documented and there would be hardly anyone who was not well-aware of the harm caused by smoking. In addition, the lives, and in many cases the untimely deaths, of many celebrities are a testament to the devastating effects of substance abuse.

Refraining from gobbling food and drink

Refraining from gobbling food and drink Islamic teachings encourage followers to eat slowly and chew each morsel before swallowing. It takes your brain some time to register that your stomach is full and eating slowly ensures that you have not consumed excess calories before your brain receives this signal. Here’s another  benefit: not only does eating slowly and mindfully help you eat less, it also enhances the pleasure of the dining experience.

Using honey to treat infections Verse 69 of  Surah Al-Nahl  in the Quran mentions honey as a source of “healing for mankind”, for good reason. Honey offers incredible antiseptic, antioxidant and immune boosting properties for our body and health. Eating a date when breaking the fast

Eating a date when breaking the fast Extended hours of not eating and drinking can deplete the body of glucose, which is the body’s primary source of energy. Breaking the fast with a date provides a quick and easy way to replenish the body’s glucose reserves. Narrated Anas bin Malik, “The Prophet (pbuh) used to break his fast before offering evening prayer with some fresh dates.” In case dates are not available, it is strongly advised to drink water, which helps to combat the dehydration caused by a fast.

Fasting in the month of Ramadan

Fasting in the month of Ramadan The medical community is gradually beginning to recognize the medical benefits of refraining from eating for the  better part of the day. Not only can this fasting help us to lose fat, it also gives our digestive system a much-needed and truly well-deserved break. It also increase neuronal autophagy, which means that your brain neurons flush out toxins. However, science has also shown that extending a fast beyond 30-40 days can result in starvation and this is not recommended.

Eating black seeds

Eating black seeds Islamic teachings insist that  black seeds should be a part of your daily diet. Hazrat Abu Hurairah states, “I have heard from Prophet (pbuh) that there is cure for every disease in black seeds except death.” In seed or powder form,  kalonji  can reduce obesity, aid digestion, treat several digestive disorder, reduce blood pressure and treat congestion.  Kalonji oil has proved to be effective in reducing joint pain and inflammation.

Treating fever with cold water

Treating fever with cold water The practice of applying cold compresses and ice packs to the foreheads of patients suffering from fever has its roots in Islamic tradition. According to  Sahih al-Bukhari , “Fever is from the heat of Hell, so put it out (cool it) with water.” Elevated body temperatures can prove fatal beyond a certain point, and applications of cold water can bring them down to normal faster.

Turning to medical professionals for treatment

Turning to medical professionals for treatment Kitab al-Tibb  narrates the Prophet (pbuh) having said, “Make use of medical treatment, for Allah has not made a disease without appointing a remedy for it.” Continuing a treatment for as long as is required improves chances of recovery, reduces chances of complications and death and improves quality of life for the patient.

Praying five times a day

Praying five times a day Apart from the spiritual aspect, praying five times a day at fixed times introduces routine in one’s life. The movements involved in the ritual provide a very light form of exercise and keeps the blood circulation going. The arrangement of prayers is such that those at the time of empty stomach are brief but those after meals are longer and give more exercise to the body in order to aid digestion after a heavy meal.

Enjoying some shut-eye in the afternoon

Enjoying some shut-eye in the afternoon Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) was in the habit of sleeping for a while after lunch and encouraged his companions and followers to do the same (Tabrani). Narrated Thumamah ibn Uthal, Anas said, “Um Sulaim used to spread a leather sheet for the Prophet (pbuh) and he used to take a midday nap on that leather sheet at her home.” A short mid-day nap gives relief to the vital organs of the body including the heart and brain.

Keeping the lid on utensils

Keeping the lid on utensils  Stressing on proper care of kitchen utensils, Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) said, “Cover up the utensils and tie the mouth of the water skins.” (Bukhari, Muslim)  This prevents contamination from passing insects and lizards and in houses with open kitchens keeps stray animals away from the food.

Emphasis on personal hygiene

Islamic teachings lay great emphasis on keeping one’s clothes and self clean.  Tirmizi , Adab, 41 exhorts, “Certainly, Allah is clean and He likes cleanness.” It is highly advised to clean rubbish, take daily showers and not leave bodily waste out in the open. As the various European plagues of the Middle Ages have shown, not observing these precautions can lead to infestations of insect-spreading rodents.

Washing hands before & after meals

Washing hands before & after meals The Prophet (pbuh) has strongly advised that one should wash his hands before and after a meal. “It is a blessing to wash your hands before and after meal.” (Abu Daud & Tirmizi) In the same vein,  islam.ru  states that Prophet (pbuh) has strongly advised not to clean hands with a towel before a meal because it may transmit infections from one person to another.

Using toothpicks after every meal

Using toothpicks after every meal Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) encouraged his followers to use a tooth pick because “ siwaak  (toothpick) cleanses the mouth and pleases the Lord after every meal.” (Sahih al-Bukhari) It cleans out food-buildup in your teeth, preventing decay and reducing the risk of cavities and tooth and gum infections.

Practicing moderation in diet

3. Practicing moderation in diet Islam emphasises moderation – not too much and not too little – in every aspect of life. The second half of verse 31 of  Surah Al-A’raf  states, “Eat and drink, but be not excessive. Indeed, He likes not those who commit excess.” A hadith in  Tirmizi  further advises Muslims to leave “one third of the belly with food, another third with drink and leave one third empty for easy breathing.” When it comes to our diet, it has been scientifically proven that eating too much can contribute to weight gain and obesity, and all the health concerns stemming from it. Similarly, eating too little can result in your body not receiving the nutrients it needs for proper development and survival.

Refraining from eating pork

2. Refraining from eating pork This is another one of Islam’s dietary restrictions that would be well known to many. Despite being one of the most consumed meats worldwide, pork introduces various viruses and bacteria in the body, according to healthy living website  Livestrong.com . This in turn can contribute to vomiting, fever, diarrhea, abdominal cramps and dehydration, all of which can prove fatal in extreme cases.

1. Refraining from consuming alcohol

1. Refraining from consuming alcohol The prohibition on alcohol is probably one of Islam’s most well-known dietary restrictions, with valid reason. According to health not only does alcohol cause cirrhosis of the liver and reduce concentration resulting in accidents, it can also contribute to conditions such as anemia, cancer, cardiovascular disease and even Alzheimer’s.

Healing Verses in Quran

Healing Verses in Quran While the entire Quran is a source of healing, there are six verses that address healing and are referred to as Ayat Ash-Shifa  or the Quranic Verses of Healing. And [God] shall heal the breast of the believers. (at-Tawba, 9:14) وَيَشْفِ صُدُورَ قَوْمٍ مُؤْمِنِينَ *****  Mankind there has come to you a guidance from your Lord and a healing for (the diseases) in your hearts, and for those who believe a guidance and a mercy. (Yunus, 10:57) يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ قَدْ جَاءَتْكُمْ مَوْعِظَةٌ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ وَشِفَاءٌ لِمَا فِي الصُّدُورِ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ***** There issues from within the bodies of the bee a drink of varying colors wherein is healing for mankind. (an-Nahl, 16:69)  يَخْرُجُ مِنْ بُطُونِهَا شَرَابٌ مُخْتَلِفٌ أَلْوَانُهُ فِيهِ شِفَاءٌ لِلنَّاسِ ۗ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً لِقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ ***** And We sent down in the Quran such things that have healing and mercy for the believers (al-Isra, 17:82)

This article is not about the glory of Islamic Medicine of past 1000 years which produced great physicians like al Razi and Ibn Sina. This article is also not about virtues of honey, the center point of discussion in most of the articles written these days on Islamic Medicine. This also is not an article saying that since science has now confirmed certain Quranic statements, therefore Quran must be a divine book. To the contrary, we begin with the belief that all Quranic statements are true, science has confirmed some of them in the past, and will confirm the rest in the future. If science has not confirme
